Follow the Road
This weeks theme is "Follow the road" which takes the concept of the Wizard of Oz's yellow brick road and couples it with Jesus being the way. Our scripture is based on John 14:6a (The Message) which states: Jesus said, "I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life. No one gets to the Father apart from me". Please pray for Trinity's youth group as well as the other youth groups present at the camp that they may discover and follow Christ's road for their life.

Day 1

Our journey to Passport began at 5:00 AM this morning. We stopped for breakfast at 7:30AM and we watched lots of movies. I think that I slept 10 of the 11 hours we traveled. We did not have any bus problems the entire trip.
When we got to camp we unloaded and got something to eat. Afterwards we started the camp with morning celebration and broke out into our Bible study groups. In our Bible study groups we found out what our mission assignments and we got to learn the names of others in our group. My mission project will be working with children. Then we went to a vespers service (a mini worship service). After that, we had church group devotions.
I am super excited to see what this week will bring!

Even though I had to wake up at 4 in the morning, it was worth it for what is going to be a great week at Passport. The only thing that was between me and Passport was the bus ride. Usually, it is awful, super long and not fun. This year was completely different. It went by fast and it was a lot of fun. It was one of the best bus rides ever.

Day 2
Day 2 (and then there was Rec.)

My Bible Study, Red Square 40, went to a summer camp called 'the Bridge' as our mission project. I worked with kids of all ages from 3 to 13. I was surprised with how intelligent and talented some of the kids were. One of the girls I talked to was a great singer. She sang 3 songs from 'Frozen' to me.
Cassie and a few other girls asked me if I knew how to step. For those of you who do not know what step is, it is a dance-like thing. You stomp and clap and make a rhythm. Anyways, they tried to teach me. I didn't pick it up very fast, but they had fun teaching me. They were amazed when I told them I could do the splits. The highlight of my day is when they told me to find them tomorrow. It made me so happy that I could make someone else happy.

Monday was our first full day and our first day on the job site. My site was playing with kids at the local government housing. We give out lots of high fives, piggy back rides, and played all kinds of ball games. While it is difficult to break up fights and divide up toys sometimes, seeing the kid's faces light up when we arrived made all of the work worth it.
When we got back to camp after work we got to all compete at The Rec Party and ended off the day with a meaningful worship service.

Today was our second full day at camp. It went pretty much like any other camp day as far as what we did. My Bible study group actually had a little unexpected turn of events at missions because they didn't have anything really for us to do. We ended up playing a lot of fun games though and really got to know each other better. Then of course we ended the day with the Emerald Ball, and I'm pretty sure I won't have a voice later. Overall, it was a pretty good day. :-)

Today at Passport was probably my favorite so far. This morning we had celebration which was very fun and exciting. Today at our mission site we sorted clothing at a place called Dignity U Wear. This organization gives career clothing to homeless people who are trying to get jobs. Tasha, Sydney and I formed an assembly line and got a lot done. During free time we went to the beach which was the highlight of my day. We played soccer, volleyball, and swam in the crashing waves. Jonathan, Mark and I scored and amazing goal in soccer today. Also multiple folks lost things in the heavy current of the ocean. Tonight during worship we wrote prayers. At the end we were given another person's prayer which was really neat to contemplate. It was a really great day, and I had a lot of fun growing closer with my Trinity Youth Group.

Today was a great day at Passport. In Bible study today we talked about speaking out for people who are in need. It was very cool to see all the groups of people that were named that we could help in our community. After Bible study, we went to our mission project which was breaking down tree limbs for people to sell. It is very tiring and wears you out fast. The best part of the day had to be the beach because our whole youth group had a lot of fun playing soccer, volleyball n playing in the water. We ended things off with a great worship service that I loved.

Today was a great day at Passport. In Bible study today we talked about speaking out for people who are in need. So today we went to breakfast to eat. Then we went to morning celebration, and we played games and sang the theme song. After that we went to our Bible study groups which I was red circle 55 (the best team). Today the theme was that we have had the power of God to make a difference all week. Then after Bible study, we went to missions. My missions group was serving in a mental institute. We painted and did landscaping. We even got to talk with some of the patients which was really an amazing moment so see whose lives we were really touching. When we got back to camp, it was free time and this was the day we had the volleyball tournament which Trinity did really good. We set a Trinity record by making it to play the camp staff which is wonderful!!! We went to dinner, and I ate a lot. Then it was worship time, and it was a lot of singing. Tonight was a good service and we gave our mission offering for the church. After worship we had church group devotions, and we ate watermelon. We had an hour break and then the variety show. There were a lot of good acts and Brett, Josh and Caleb each did individual acts. Today was a long day but it was spent with awesome people and plenty of fun
